Dr. Conchita Martin
DDS, PhDProfessor of Orthodontics and Research Methodology, the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (UCM) Faculty of Odontology, Madrid, Spain
Dr. Martín holds the position of Clinical Teacher at the PostGraduate Program of Orthodontics at the university of UCM since 1996.

 She is a specialist in Orthodontics, having completed a 3-year postgraduate program at the University Complutense of Madrid and complementary postgraduate studies at UCLA. She received her Doctorate Degree in Odontology (Dr Odont) at the University of UCM. She is a specialist in Statistics and Experimental Design, having completed a Masters’ Degree at the University Autonoma in Barcelona. Now She is also on the editorial board of the European Journal of Orthodontics. She is currently the PI of the research group “Craniofacial Biology: Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics” (BIOCRAN) officially recognized and funded by the Spanish Government. Her past responsibilities in research involved the participation in two other research groups, one dealing with masticatory muscle physiology and neuromuscular activity in different malocclusions (mainly posterior cross-bites), and the ETEP research group: a multidisciplinary research group in aetiology and therapy of periodontal diseases, that covered topics such as biology of tooth movement, antimicrobial approaches in the treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis and peri-implant infections and bone and soft tissue biology.

Dr. Won Moon is the Founder/CEO of the Moon Principles Institute (“the MoonLab”) and a Co-founder/Chief Innovations Officer of BioTech Innovations.
He served as the Thomas R. Bales Endowed Chair in Orthodontics for the orthodontic residency program at UCLA School of Dentistry (2013-2020), and he currently holds two academic positions: Full-Professorship at Ajou University School of Medicine, and Adjunct Professorship at the Forsyth Institute. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2002. He completed his dental education at Harvard and orthodontic education at UCLA. His work has been published in various journals, not necessarily limited to orthodontics because of his physical science background, and he is a co-author of six textbooks. He has presented these findings in 42 countries, totaling over 500 presentations.

Dr. Ben Wu

Prof. Ben Wu is Chief Science Officer at the ADA Forsyth Institute. He received his Advanced Prosthodontics training from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he published the first papers on three dimensional printing for tissue engineering scaffolds and drug delivery devices.

He was recruited to UCLA where he rose the ranks to simutaneous chairmanship in two top schools (Bioengineering in the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, and Advanced Prosthodontics in UCLA School of Dentistry).  He was also Director of the UCLA Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology, and Professor in the Department of Materials Science and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at UCLA. His research focused on the understanding of biomaterials-tissue interactions, and advanced manufacturing of novel materials at scale.  His research program has produced over 250 peer-reviewed articles, >30 patents, and >22,000 citations. He has been continuously funded by the NIH and NSF for over 20 years and three of his start-ups have FDA clearance.  He serves on numerous advisory boards for government, academia,  industry, and non-profit, and is an active clinical prosthodontist.

Dr. Seung-Hak Baek

Dr. Baek was trained in Department of Orthodontics, Seoul National University Hospital and got MSD and PhD from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea. He is Professor, Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Seoul National University; President of Korean Association of Orthodontists (2022-2024); and Past President of Korean Cleft lip and Palate Association (2017-2019).

In addition, he is a member of Editorial Review Board of Angle Orthodontist, a Peer reviewer of AJODO, EJO, PIO and other journals, and an Associate Editor in Orthodontic Craniofacial Research and AJODO-Clinical Companion. He received a 2009 CDABO Case report of the year in Boston AAO meeting and gave presentations in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2023, and 2024 AAO meetings. He published more than 200 articles in prestigious orthodontic and surgical journals and around 50 books. His subspecialty is diagnosis and treatment of Class III malocclusion, cleft and craniofacial anomalies, and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Nan Hatch is the Lysle E Johnston, Jr. Collegiate Endowed Professor of Orthodontics, and the Chair of the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hatch received her clinical orthodontic training and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, USA.
 Dr. Hatch has previously served as the Great Lakes representative to the American Association of Orthodontic’s Council on Scientific Affairs, as president of the Craniofacial Biology Group of the International Association of Dental Research and on the Awards Review Committee of the International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Hatch is certified by the American Board of Orthodontists. She has mentored numerous orthodontic residents on their research, several of whom have won research awards from the American Association of Orthodontists and/or the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation. She has served as a primary organizer and host of the Moyers Symposium on Orthodontics for the past five years. Dr. Hatch’s research interests include basic and translational research in bone biology and the molecular etiology of craniofacial anomalies, as well as the development of biologic mediators and drug delivery systems for control of orthodontic tooth movement and retention. Her research has been funded by the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation, foundations, corporations, and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIH/NIDCR). She holds a patent on a Tissue Nonspecific Alkaline Phosphatase as a biomedical treatment approach for craniosynostosis.

Takashi Ono is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontic Science, Graduate School Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU), Tokyo, Japan.

He studied at TMDU, the University of British Columbia, Canada and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Prof. Ono worked and has been working as an Adjunct/Visiting Professor at 6 domestic and 7 international universities. He also serves as an editorial board member for 14 international peer-reviewed journals. He has published 11 book chapters and 301 scientific articles and has been invited extensively for lecturing nationally and internationally. Prof. Ono is a recipient of IADR/AADR Williams J. He has been appointed as Chairman of the 9th International Orthodontic Congress (IOC) in 2020 and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO).

Dr. Franchi is presently Full Professor of Orthodontics, Dean of the School of Dentistry and Chairman of the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Florence, Italy. Graber Visiting Scholar”, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, School of Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, U.S.A, where he has been collaborating with Prof. J.A. McNamara for 27 years. He has published extensively in the international literature and he has lectured at many international meetings and symposia. Dr. Chung is Chauncey M. F. Egel Endowed Chair and Director of Postdoctoral Orthodontics Program of the Department of Orthodontics, University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He served as the Director of the American Board of Orthodontics (2010-2018), and the President of the American Board of Orthodontics (2017-2018). Dr. Chung received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1986 and Orthodontic Certificate/Master of Science in Oral Biology in 1992 from the University of Pennsylvania. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the University of Pennsylvania Research Foundation Award, and the American Association of Orthodontists Award as the Co-chair of the Scientific Program of the Annual Session of the American Association of Orthodontists in Washington DC, 2018 and Miami, 2022. In addition, he has published numerous articles in refereed journals. Dr. Chung has been an active member of the E. H. He was formerly the Academic Senate Tenured Professor since 2002 and founding chair in the Division of Growth and Development at UCLA. The Division comprises the Sections of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. Besides his teaching and clinical responsibilities in Orthodontics. Dr. Ting has google scholar h-index of 62 – as one of the top three highest orthodontists globally. Ting’s original research has received well over 12,000 citations. It has been published in many leading journals, including Nature Communications, Journal of Clinical Investigation, PLOS One, and Biomaterials, etc as the principal author. Dr. Ting has been served as a PARC AAOF committee member since 2015. In 2018, Professor Ting and his team received the International Space Station (ISS) Innovation Award for Biology and Medicine for Development of NELL-1 Bone-Growth Systemic Therapy by the American Astronautical Society. Dr. Ting has received over US 30M in funding from the US government as a key investigator in his career.  Stemmed from his research, two novel biologic drugs are currently in FDA clinical trials for scar reduction, and bone regeneration respectively.

Dr. Tingxi Wu is currently serving as the Director of Orthodontics and Research Faculty member at ADA Forsyth Institute.

She is the president-elect of IADR Orthodontic Research Group in 2024. Dr. Wu obtained her DDS degree from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University. Following her DDS training, she acquired her PhD degree and orthodontic specialty training at University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Wu is actively involved in translational and clinic studies, including development of preventive and therapeutic tools against orthodontic-related oral infectious diseases and craniofacial deformity. The novel technologies developed by Dr. Wu were licensed by several dental companies. In addition, Dr. Wu’s basic research focuses on using molecular approaches to study oral microbial pathogenesis with a specific focus on microbial biofilm, inter-species interaction and signal transduction. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented her research at national and international conferences. Dr. Wu has received awards and funding from National Institutes of Health, American Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists Foundation.
