He has coauthored 380 papers and chapters and edited 14 books; this work has received over 20,000 citations (h index 78-scholar). He has been elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institute of Physics (first dentist holding both Fellowships), the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining (UK), and FDS of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ed). His past affiliations include visiting professorships at King’s College London and the University of Adelaide, and an adjunct professorship at Boston University. He has as taught his orthodontic biomaterials course to 23 postgraduate orthodontic programs in 14 countries and was the recipient of the 2024 EOS distinguished teacher award. He is the elected Editor of the European Journal of Orthodontics.
